To Susan Shofner (Wendye) -“I hear your show is a hit. I’m so glad. Congratulations and good show!” — Charles Bailey, Houston actor

About Me, but NOT About Me
I grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana. I earned a bachelor of arts in political science at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, much to the relief and amazement of friends and family. After a well-deserved celebration of my extraordinary achievement, I reluctantly returned a call to my family. My mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer and had a mastectomy. I packed my 1968 Cutlass and headed to Houston, Texas. While not an ideal candidate as a caretaker, I was a welcome sight as I pulled into my family’s driveway. I’ve been in Houston ever since.
But it’s NOT about me. It’s about my writing and it’s about you as a reader and audience member. I hope you will see yourself or, perhaps, someone you love in the characters I have created. I hope you find the stories intriguing and, perhaps, somewhat comforting. I hope your heart rate quickens and your eyes moisten as you feel the aches and pleasures of these sweet Southern souls.
I’m working on a new story. I think you’ll like it. I’ll keep you posted on the progress. 8/28/2018
